I have just completed two of the most exciting weeks of my life to date. Learning to jump out of a plane was made very interesting, exciting, fun but most of all the level of safety that was put forward gave me the greatest confidence to do what I never thought I would do. The Freefall University is both a very friendly place and a very professional site. I have left with some great new friends and some even better experiences.

After doing a tandem for charity last year, I was completely hooked and decided that an AFF course was the way forward. But I could never have expected it to be one of the best weeks of my life! I have nothing but praise for the instructors that I had.

They managed to make it entirely natural to “step out of the plane” at 13,000ft, and even after some appaling dives (i managed to get on the Uni´s “skydive nightmare video”- apparently throwing away the throw away is a good plan!,.. they still stayed patient. Dave and Luci gave the best pep talks in the world and were willing to spend hours on end building my confidence (“stop being so negative you just jumped out of a plane”- Luci)- I got there in the end and even managed 11 jumps in 2 days at the end of the week.

I would recommend the Freefall University to anyone. Both the English and Spanish instructors were so friendly and helpful and made us feel completely welcome. Thanks again to all the amazing people I met, particularly all of my instructors and Mikey (Euphoria)- for an amazing video/stills on one of my last jumps. And don’t worry Dave, we’ll be back :). Don’t think about it, just do it “‘cos skydiving rocks” (Brian Vacher after over 4500 jumps)

I was down at the IPC at the weekend, windy and cold but was great craic going up in the plane with “The Big Boys”!!

Was complimented on my “flying” so thank you to yourself and the instructors as I’m sure it would have taken me a life time to crack it if I’d stayed at static line progression.

Had a Mal on my 1 st jump, sort of a welcome home thing I think! Got straight back up and jumped again and was never so grateful to see a perfect canopy above my head!!

Thank you once again for the course and the wise words, I’ve given going back to Spain to become a drop zone bum a serious amount of consideration and thought better of it!!

David, Just a quick note to say thank very much for my week at the Freefall University. As soon as I arrived in FFU, I was made to feel very welcome by yourself and Lolla. This was my first taste of the friendliness and professionalism that you, and your staff bestowed on me for the whole week.

I started the AFF course on the Tue morning, after a nice sleep in the apartment you had provided. The facilities were excellent here, and it felt very homely.

I could not have asked for a better instructor. Throughout my course he was very attentive, professional and full of knowledge. There was never a question asked, that he did not know the answer to, or endeavour to find out the answer. This experience and wealth of knowledge helped me in completing the AFF course in three days, and also completing 10 consolidation jumps and my level 8 jump, by the end of my holiday.

I could not have asked for a better atmosphere to learn to skydive in. I am already planning my next trip to FFU, hopefully in November, and again in December for the Xmas Boogie.

If the aim of your Company is to get people hooked on skydiving, then you have succeeded here, my whole week was outrageous, I have never felt such a big high as rolling out of a plane at 13000ft and screaming toward the ground with my helmet and goggles shaking. Thankyou. Please pass my thanks on to Brian , and let him know I will see him in December . Once again thank you.

After a number of years thinking about carrying out a Skydiving course I eventually found myself at the Freefall University at in September 2004.

I decided to go on this course on my own as none of my mates were prepared to do it with me but to my pleasant suprise I found that there were many like minded people (crazy human meat bombs) who also done the same thing as myself. The AFF instructers were very professional & delivered their instructions in a very relaxed atmosphere which is essential when so much information is to be taken in… especially considering that in a short space of time you will be plummeting towards the ground at a rapid rate of knotts – 120mph. The equipment was also very good & was well maintained which was obvious to even a student of Skydiving. Anyone who has done Skydiving will know that the experience of freefall is unique & there is no way to explain it but to get youself up there & do some meat bombing.

Personally I had Lucy as my main instructor & Brian who jumped with me for my level 6 who I found to have very different approaches but both fantastic at what they do, but all instructors were approachable & gave sound advice as well as some extroadinary story’s when the sun went down & the Beer was flowing… (I wont mention the night I woke up in the early hours on a dirt track). The people that I have met on my AFF course are great & I have made some cool friends who all helped each other to get through the course, probably the most memorable phrase of the course for myself, Mark Owen (Mr Buttclencher) & Jump mad Jimmy was our own little variation to the drills that are drummed into you & the little niggles that go through your mind when you are trying to get the best arch position so you dont get too many signals from your AFF instructor… this phrase was BUTTCLENCHER which had to be expressed with a screwed up face , cross eyes & stupid voice, but I have got to admit it worked for me aswell as making it that little bit more fun.

I can honestly say that the course has been one of my best experiences and it has given me a whole new direction in my life & I will be returning to FFUvery soon to progress my Skydiving skills. To all at Freefall University a very big thanks. To all you BUTTCLENCHERS out there – Keep on Meat Bombing.

‘I came to the FFU after my experience with the static line course in England, I initially whizzed through the static line stage, but was so afraid of freefall, that my brain turned to mush on my 3 second delay attempts. Arriving at the Freefall University , Lucy’s clear and thorough training meant that my fears melted away and helped me get all the way through to the solos consoles without repeat levels.

Riding into the skies in wolfy with the Chillie peppers playing in my ears turned me into a complete jump-junkie and I even completed 8 solos in one day.

I am now left itching for the next opportunity to jump here in England (British weather dependant) A big thanks to all FFU staff for one of the best times of my life, and I can’t wait to return for Brian’s canopy piloting course

‘I had a great time, skydiving is going to be my new hobby. The staff at FFU are so professional and posses the ability to actually relax you right before you go throwing yourself out of planes! A big thanks to my instructor in whom I placed total faith and felt very at ease with his teaching methods. I will be back to progress my training to FS1 in the near future.’

To anyone reading this, take Nike’s advice and “just do it”, phone Dave now and get yourself out to sunny happy FFU. I had put off booking my course for a variety of reasons but after completing the course I look back on all the wasted weekends I have had not throwing myself out of a plane. Dave, the rest of the team and everyone I met at the DZ were great, very friendly and helpful which is just the right atmosphere to carry out the AFF course, where being relaxed is key. I’d like to give a special thanks to Ronan, my instructor, for his patience with me and also his interesting suggestions for relaxing and improving my arch J See you all soon.

“I cannot recommend enough going to Spain to do the AFF. For me, it has been but a pipe-dream, and took me 10 years to get myself to do it. Crazy when you think the course was done with a cracking instructor (Brian, you’re a legend!) in under a week. All those years of jumping missed! Better late than never though, and since my return I’ve been up at Netheravon whenever jumping looks likely. Anybody who has thought that they might like to do it would be crazy not to try. The Freefall University is a friendly and relaxed DZ and I’m already planning another trip!”

Thanks

Forget drugs, AFF is the best way to start an addiction and the best high you can get!The Freefall University is in an ideal location with excellent facilities, and superb instructors. David provided me with the ideal holiday in the sun, jumping out of a plane (‘as you do!’) Completely hassle free! He sorted out everything, all I had to do was turn up.After talking to friends who were doing AFF in the UK, I’m glad I went to the Freefall University ! As I finished the AFF course without repeating, I had Brian all to myself thought out the levels, got loads of jumps in, met loads of people and made great friends. Best of all I never had any problems when I came to jump in the UK!It was the best holiday ever! Bad thing is I’ve just gotta go back!A big Thank You to all at The Freefall University, as now I’ve got a big addiction to feed!!

WOW ! What an incredible experience – one definitely not to be missed. Stop reading these references and book now as no words can adequately describe the amazing thrill of freefall.Learning to sky-dive at the Freefall University was a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to get back to meet Dave and his team again. My primary instructor was Lucy Boella and her clarity of explanation, patience, and willingness to help were the main reasons I passed my AFF Course. I cannot recommend Lucy or the other instructors highly enough as they are all willing to offer advice and to help. The Freefall University is a personalised operations and the whole atmosphere at the Drop Zone is welcoming, friendly and great fun. Thanks to you all for an incredible week.

With out a doubt this was the best holiday and experience of my life. Earlier in 2004 I did a tandem jump in the uk and knew straight away that this was something I just had to go learn properly so I could experience freefall by myself. I arrived on a Monday and started straight away with ground school, which was finished by Tuesday morning. It took me three days to complete the AFF course and by Thursday afternoon I was jumping by myself and having the time of my life. With all the adventure sports ive participated in over the years, nothing has given me the adrenaline rush of jumping out of a perfectly good plane at 13 thousand feet and flying through the air..words don’t do justice to what you feel when you freefall. The drop-zone, apartment, town, weather, the other students and instructors were all first class all the way through the trip. I can’t highly recommend enough Lucy and Brian who taught me my AFF or any of the other AFF instructors, all were professional, friendly, funny and have a huge emphasis on safety, which helps you feel confident and calm in the air.I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at the Freefall University who made my holiday what it was. And especially to Dani a.k.a “cigarette stealer” a.k.a “mad-man” who filmed my last jump and made it my best solo jump whilst I was out there. The video was awesome dude! And I’m already saving up now so I can go back in December or January to once again have the time of my life. Thanks again all

If you find you have an unexpected week of work coming up, as i did and you want to find somthing to do… Then i highly reccomend the aff course run by David Cowman. David’s team are all a great laugh and easy to get on with. There is a fairly relaxed but disciplined attitude towards training witch makes it very enjoyable to learn. After completing my aff jumps, I then went on to do my consol jumps and a few more fun jumps. I totaled 24 jumps in 9 days. I would like to thank everyone at the Freefall University for their support and providing me with a great holiday. I would also like to give special thanks to Lucy who as my instructor got me through my training and made me a sky diver `Great job Lucy ..thanks!

“I recently completed Freefall University’s Formation Skydiving Course, have completed AFF there 2 months earlier. Lucy was an excellent teacher with thorough ground instruction and clear and decisive communication in the air. I’d highly recommend it especially to those recently graduated off AFF

– if you think doing solo jumps is fun, check out the thrill of doing relative work that this course teaches you! I’ll be back in September to hone the skills learnt in the course and maybe do another course in canopy skills. Thanks guys.

“When you step out of the plane nothing else matters other than the moment” (Jordie). Very true and a great way to leave that stress behind!! Dave, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all at the Freefall University for delivering exactly what you promised in a friendly, relaxed and above all safe manner. I had a fantastic week learning a new skill, making new friends and laughing. I have no hesitation in recommending the Freefall University to anyone interested in taking up the sport. I wish you, Jordie, Lucy, Tim and Danny all the very best for the future in whatever you do.

Good Luck Colin McCullough.

I’ve just had the most amazing week of my life at the Freefall University. At first I struggled to get to grips with freefall but Dave and his team made a real effort to help me get through the course. With some expert coaching and more than a little patience from the instructors I gained enough confidence to graduate within one week. Now I’m a skydiving junkie and can’t get enough. It really is an incredible and brilliant experience. I want to give special thanks to Tim and Brian for their excellent support I couldn’t have done it without them – ‘ARCH!’

I knew that I wanted to do an AFF course but wanted to compress it into the time off I could get from work. This meant looking outside of England to somewhere with reliable weather. I wanted to go somewhere where I could do all the course jumps and a lot of solos when finished. I choose the Freefall University. When I arrived at the drop zone I was made to feel at home straight away and my fears about travelling on my own vanished. My Instructor ( Lucy ) was excellent and made me feel very at ease with the idea of throwing myseld out of a plane. All the staff and other jumpers ( students and experienced ) were incredibly friendly and made every effort to ensure I had a great time. What more can I say other than I will definatley be back to jump with David and his team soon.

Thanks for a brilliant week – the course was fantastic, the Instruction first class, the setting and weather really making for a wonderful learning environment, and the course, accomodation and flights all for less than the course price alone in the UK! Brian is a brilliant instructor who made me feel confident and relaxed, so that when I did have a cut-away the training took over completely and I had no worries or qualms in dealing with it (bet you don’t put that bit on the web site!). I would heartily recommend the AFF course to anyone, particularly those in the U.K. who are having as many problems as I did trying to work my way through the RAPS system, bad weather and insufficient students to put the plane up being the usual problems. The other major factor for me was the great bunch of people training with me, that really made it a brilliant time and complete holiday.
