I was met in Madrid Airport by my driver and in my apartment within 2 hours. The next morning i did my ground school and my first jump the day after. The weather for my six day stay was excellent as was my instructor. I had jumped already from a low altitude with the Parachute Regiment in the UK, but was unprepared for the adrenalin rush that jumping from altitude gave me…what a blast. The drop zone was nice , friendly staff. Id like to say a big thank you to all involved and will be back to do my formation skydiving course as soon as I can.

I had planned a ten day stay at the Freefall University but this ended being almost a month! Lucy and Tim , the AFF Instructors that got me through the course with no repeats are the best ! Friendly, professional and down to earth. The equipment, weather , pilots and plane are f***** excellent . Dont get sun burnt or drunk too much though this may take some avoiding. This place is the real deal. I will certainly be back with friends for another fantastic holiday. Nice one Mr Cowman ! . p.s beware ” Skywalker ” , the notoriuos parachute packing ” cigarette stealer” . Thanks also to Dannie Jessop for some excellent camera work with stills and Mike for the exit shots…

Dear David,

I would like to thank you for the great time i had at the freefall University. My stay lasted for 10 days and I managed 38 jumps including 8 fantastic fs coaching jumps with Luci Boella and 2 four-way fs jumps. The DZ was great and professional and i would recommend it to anyone.

What i found most important was my friends AFF course virtually mirrored my own back at Chatteris in England. (10 out of 10) for quality and professionalism. I would also like to to thank Ronan Murphy from the Irish Army for his help and support in gaining my fs1 quallification. If all goes well i will be back sometime in September to see you all and of course improve my skydiving abilities more.

Thanking all involved

All the best, Roy Darville

Hey all you AFF graduates out there! If you’ve not been back to Freefall University since you graduated – get cracking, get back and do the Accuracy Training Course.I graduated in January and went back for a few days in March. I did a refresher jump with Lucy coz it had been 8 weeks since I last jumped. This helped me get back into the swing of things and just be really confident and comfortable for the next few days of solo jumping. After a few fun jumps where I just chilled out and brushed up on the skills I learned in AFF, I found that I wanted to learn new skills and that’s why the Accuracy Training Course was so great. A target is set up in the field – X marks the spot! The objective is to land as closely and safely to it as possible. But it’s not just about landing near it in any way, shape or form because there are certain factors to take into consideration..

I found the Accuracy Training Course a great opportunity to develop new skills by building on what I learned as an AFF student and as a result I feel that I have gained a bit more experience in my skydiving. I landed within 5m of the target a couple of times and right beside it once which I was thrilled about. Personally, I want to keep learning new skills all the time so my skydiving will constantly be going to new levels and the Accuracy Training Course did that for me. So, I can’t wait to get back again ASAP and I think the FS Course will be next!

Thanks again Dave for all your creative, innovative instruction!!!

I have had the good fortune of being taught to skydive with the Free Fall University. This company I found to be friendly, well organized and run in a professional manner. My instructor, Luci Boella, was all anyone could ask for from an instructor. Professional, patient, and attentive. Each lesson was presented clearly and interestingly, making me feel at ease and always giving me the opportunity to ask questions without making me feel that I may be foolish.

At all times I felt that I was in professional hands and as at ease with jumping out of an aircraft at 13,000 feet as anyone could be. Overall I would highly recommend the Free Fall University for an AFF course and especially Luci Boella.

On arriving at the Freefall University, with exciting but equally anxious times ahead of me, it was very welcome to have an instructor who I could implicitly lay my trust in. Dave Cowman’s relaxed but very thorough teaching style made it very clear exactly what was needed of me in order to succeed on the course. He was there every step of the way to answer any questions and talk through upcoming jump exercises.

The course itself far exceeded my expectations, and the perfect weather I encountered throughout my stay gave me a jumping continuity ( 27 jumps in ten days ) rarely found back in England, and has completely changed my outlook on the sport.

I would highly recommend anybody considering an AFF course to contact the Freefall University and find out for themselves what its like to be taught by the best in the best possible skydiving environment. See you again soon Spain!

Dave and I went to Zephyrhills in Florida to do my AFF. Despite him being ill and there being a few windy days, we managed to complete the course and I did a few solo jumps. Dave succeeds in making you feel relaxed and confident which is a large factor in making progression through the course. His sociable and focused teaching meant that I picked up the things I needed to know and do very quickly. In all I would recommend anyone to learn through the freefall university and I plan to head out to Madrid fairly soon to get some more jumps in. Absolutely fantastic – go do it!

I learned to skydive at The Freefall University, run by Dave Cowman. If you want to skydive successfully, you need two things: confidence in your equipment which was excellent , and confidence in your ability to skydive. My confidence in my ability to skydive was given to me by the instructors during the course. The instruction quality was top level, with all the instructors exuding competence, and good will. The general setup at the Freefall University is excellent, with good accommodation and facilities, and plenty of laughs and good times to be had. If you fancy learning to skydive (and I positively encourage you), I unreservedly recommend that you do so at the Freefall University. I can t imagine a better place to learn.

I have just lived the most exciting and rewarding ten days of my life doing David’s AFF course in Ocaña. Being a newbie to skydiving I was of course anxious and nervous about what was to come. However, as soon as I met David and his team any worries I had were blown away. I found them to be some of the friendliest, thoughtful and most professional people I have ever met. As a result of this I truly had a fantastic time and will continue jumping forever. Thanks for giving me the best possible introduction to an amazing and rewarding sport!

Alan Anderson , Freefall University , AFF Graduate .

I will state, the only reason why I continued and passed my AFF was due to David being an outstanding instructor with an ability to communicate efficiently what was required, how to do it right, and to become accustomed to freefall, by making me feel I was jumping with my best mate.

I would thoroughly reccomend the Accelerated Freefall Program as the best way to learn to skydive. Furhtermore I would have no hesitation in reccomending David Cowman and the freefall University as the place to learn, I found the service complete and the instruction thorough.

Emma Linley , AFF Graduate , The Freefall University .

David’s course has all the right ingredients; great weather, friendly drop zone, ideal location but most importantly he is a terrific instructor. He supports his students in every way, on the ground as well as in the air, both before and after the AFF graduation jump. I certainly couldn’t have graduated with any other instructor.

After completing the AFF course last august, i’d like to say personally i had the best time abroad ever. If you told me there’s a better way to spend my money, i’d say you havent even lived:) The staff are both friendly and professional. As is Dave Cowman, Dave never looses sight of helping you to complete your goal, and takes his own personal time to make sure that you do, I’m all smiles after coming home and have joined my local parachute club. I’ve jumped twice since i’ve come home and i am having the time of my life. Thanks Dave, hope to see you in December.

This Summer I spent 9 days at the FFU learning to skydive with David Cowman. I found the programme intensive, yet flexible enough to take indifferent peoples’ relative strengths and weaknesses. David is a great instructor who tunes into an individual’s requirements and adapts accordingly. The FFU is also an ideal venue for learning – with friendly, informal surroundings and every possible facility that you could require. Within 9 days I completed 26 jumps and made stacks of progress. I would recommend AFF to anyone thinking of learning to skydive; and particularly the Freefall University as a company to learn with.”

A fantastic 12 days jumping. From near novice to a confident skydiver within just a few days shows that this is a great way to learn but importantly the school has amazing instructors at an excellent venue.Since graduating from David’s setup I have jumped at other drop zones in the UK and found I long to return to Spain to jump in a relaxed atmosphere with the best instructors who are very friendly and want to help you progress. They aren’t there just for a job, but they are there instructing because they love it! I will definitely be back later this year.I promise if you try it then you’ll be hooked!

I had been thinking about learning to skydive for a number of years and finally took the plunge in March 2003. I enrolled on a Static-line course at my local Drop Zone. Initially I found this exciting but it wasn’t long before I became frustrated with how slowly I was progressing. After all, experiencing the amazing feeling of freefall is the only reason why I took up the sport and jumping out of a plane at a relatively low attitude on the end of a line soon became a little less than exciting. It was at this point that I decided to look around for an Accelerated Free Fall course. I looked through magazines and on the internet and came to the conclusion that I could take an AFF course abroad as cheaply as I could in England. The obvious difference being that although the course would be pretty intensive it would be more enjoyable doing the course in sunny Spain than in rainy cloudy England.I spent 7 days with the Freefall University. The fact that I was there for only seven days was not an issue and I had no problem completing the course and my consolidation jumps. This was not just down to the lovely weather but mainly down to Dave’s excellent teaching skills. Dave is an excellent skydiver and along with his coaching team makes you feel RELAXED IN THE AIR- the key to skydiving. The groups of students on each course are relatively small which enables Dave and his team to give excellent ‘one-to-one’ tuition both on the ground and in the air and you are thoroughly briefed before and after every jump. All in all what with the brilliant weather, great facilities and above all excellent coaching, if you are serious about learning to skydive
– Dave Cowman : FreeFall University is the best!

I had been doing a static line course at the IPC in Ireland, and, was not progressing at the pace I had hoped. I decided to take a holiday and do an AFF. I looked at the Freefall University and decided that it looked like it was for me. I had some worries about going on my todd but when I arrived I felt very involved in my course. Dave and Jordi accompanied me on my first jump, and made me feel very comfortable. I had some great fun with everybody there and learned so much about Skydiving. I now want to progress forward and want to jump all the time now! When I passed my AFF I was delighted and it gave me a massive confidence boost. I would certainly recommend it to anybody interested in getting into Skydiving.

I’ve recently returned home after completing the AFF course at the Freefall University. After a turbulent first jump, instructor David Cowman gave me the confidence and encouragement to get back in the air. I completed the course within the next few days, and have since joined my local skydiving club. The set up at Ocaña provides an ideal place to learn to skydive. A combination of top instructors, great weather and great accommodation ensure that students can concentrate 100% on the skydiving.

Thanks for a great time guys, see you in December!”
