Indoor Skydiving
While a wind tunnel cannott simulate all parts of a skydive , it can simulate the freefall which can be a little overwhelming at first while learning to skydive. Freefall Simulators during your AFF course can take the pressure of you and even better you get to do it with your AFF instructor for seamless learning. On a minute per minute basis from a training perspective its fantastic value for money.
High fidelity Freefall Simulator
A wind tunnel is a high fidelity device where giant fans far away from the flight chamber circulate air at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour. The tunnel flight speed will be set depending on what orientation people will fly. For students learning to skydive on their belly or " belly flying " the speed will be set to around 120 miles per hour and for more advanced orientations such as head down , speeds of 180 miles per hour are not uncommon. As skydivers we value large flight chambers in terms of both diameter and height. Our tunnels are up to 5.25meters in diameter and 20m high giving us loads of space to learn. Open bright tunnels such as those we use with 360 degree hardened glass windows add to the sense of open space in which to fly. Each Tunnel flight lasts two minutes with time out to watch HD video of your flight and get briefed for the next flight.
